In this game, you enter the Dragon Temple and fight your way through nine levels to defeat all enemies and earn the prestigious 5th Dan Black Belt. You start as a Red Belt and must defeat each opponent individually to progress. The game is a side-scrolling Beat 'em Up, with the screen scrolling as you move through the levels. You have various moves such as high kicks, punches, and leg sweeps, which are executed using the joystick and fire button. Additionally, you can fight with a bamboo staff for extra power. Your health bar and your opponent's health bar represent different body areas; when one reaches zero, either the opponent is defeated, or you've lost a life. Each new level grants you nine more lives. A unique feature is that if you stop moving the joystick for a while, the computer will take over your character's movements, but you can resume control by pressing the fire button.
