Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse is a visual novel set in the Muv-Luv Alternative universe. It is a spin-off story set parallel to Muv-Luv Alternative , following a new cast of characters while retaining the setting of the original visual novel.
The game takes place in 2001, where the Japanese Empire is trying to develop a new Tactical Surface Fighter for their army. They decide to work with the American government to build upon their existing technology. The project, code-named XFJ, is led by Takamura Yui, a young officer in charge.
Gameplay involves making choices that affect the story, with multiple endings depending on the player's decisions. The game features a mix of interactive dialogue and cinematic sequences, allowing players to become immersed in the world of Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse .
Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse was released for the Xbox 360 in October 2011.
