The game RoboCop Versus The Terminator on Sega Mega Drive is an action-adventure title that takes inspiration from the comic book crossover of two iconic cyborgs. The story follows RoboCop as he is tricked into a trap by Terminators sent from the future, leading to his upload into a computer network where Skynet grows.
Years later, in a post-apocalyptic future, RoboCop is reactivated and must help the human resistance by defeating Skynet once and for all. The game consists of 10 levels, with a mix of platforming and heavy shooting elements. Players control RoboCop as he navigates through levels set both in present-day Detroit and the post-apocalyptic future.
As RoboCop progresses through the game, players can collect and use various weapons to take down enemies, including Terminators, robotic dogs, spiders, and automated guns. The player starts with a basic pistol but can find additional firearms such as flame and grenade throwers, laser guns, and self-seeking missiles.
Enemies must be destroyed using one of eight different weapons, all of which have unlimited ammo. However, players are limited to carrying two guns at once, and losing a gun means it is lost forever. Each level features a boss battle against Terminators, heavy tanks, or other foes from the game's story.
Some levels also include optional objectives, such as freeing hostages or destroying security cameras, which add an extra layer of challenge to the gameplay.
