Shadowgate 64 is a 3D first-person adventure game where you play as Del Cottonwood, a halfling adventurer who becomes a prisoner of Castle Shadowgate after a raid on his caravan. The castle is filled with thieves and other scum, and an evil wizard named Belzar intends to release the Warlock Lord.

As Del, your initial goal is to escape the castle, but as the story unfolds, you discover that you have a greater purpose. You must prevent Belzar from releasing the Warlock Lord, a task made possible by the guidance of the great Wizard Lakmir.
