The sequel to the famous snowboard simulation Snowboard Kids is a fun family sports game. It combines a trick-oriented snowboard simulator with shooting/arcade elements.
Players can choose from various characters with different looks and skills. There are different gaming modes, including a story mode with a very light and entertaining plot. The storyline is quite basic, sometimes similar to the Kirby series concepts. Hence, there is no rush for saving the world, just some funny little fellas entertaining themselves.
Winning a race or performing tricks provides players with credits, which can be spent on improved equipment. Shooting elements involve throwing strange objects against other snowboard kids to slow them down. There are great power-ups during gameplay. Courses often feature unusual environments like jungles, space stations, and castles.
Snowboard Kids was released for the Nintendo 64 in February 1998 and is a part of the Extreme Sports genre. The game allows players to experience fun family sports with a mix of trick-oriented snowboarding and arcade shooting elements.
