Aokana: Four Rhythms Across the Blue is a futuristic visual novel set in a world where anti-gravity shoes have made flying a reality for everyone. The game follows Masaya Hinata, a sophomore who used to be part of a prestigious flying sports team called "Flying Circus". After leaving the team due to repeated defeats and frustration, he meets Asuka Kurashina, a new student who reignites his passion for sport and sparks romantic feelings.
When Aokana was first released on Nintendo Switch in August 2020, it included some scenes with mature themes that were edited or removed from later versions. The game also features additional content on the PlayStation Vita version, including new character cutscenes and two songs by musician Mami Kawada.
