Lingo is an adaptation of the TV game show of the same name, which at the time of release aired in the Netherlands, France, and Germany. Two teams compete to guess five-letter words. The first letter of the word is revealed from the beginning. If a guessed word contains a correct letter, it is marked with a square if in the right place and a circle if in the wrong place.
The team who correctly guesses then draws two balls from a ball basin containing red, green and numbered blue balls. Red balls end their turn, and drawing three green balls over the course of the game adds a bonus to their winnings. Blue balls fill spots on a "lingo card", i.e. a bingo card. Completing rows or columns on the card adds an additional bonus.
The gameplay is simple yet challenging, requiring quick thinking and strategy to guess the words before time runs out. With team control options including human and computer player, players can choose their own style of play.
