Dragon Dance is a Breakout variant with power-ups similar to Arkanoid. The objective is to destroy bricks using a ball, but instead of a paddle, the player uses a dragon that curls up into a ball. For every lost ball, the dragon shrinks until it disappears.
The game has a time limit for each level, so players must complete levels quickly. To increase speed, the player can use power-ups that add extra time or boost the dragon's movement speed. The player can also transform their dragon into different types with special abilities, such as freezing time or shooting fireballs. As the player destroys bricks, these abilities become available through a gauge at the top of the screen.
The game consists of 100 levels, with every tenth being a boss level. There is also a versus mode where two players can compete against each other, choosing from ten levels and trying to clear the most bricks. The player who clears their screen first wins.
