The Nazis have built a base on the moon and plan to use Lunarium to reduce people's intelligence. However, with time travel mastered and jet-propulsion backpacks, cataclysmic weaponry, and advanced code-breaking equipment, five rocket factories must be found and destroyed to change the course of history.

Rocket Ranger is an action-adventure game that follows this storyline, featuring cinematic animation sequences to set the scene. The gameplay involves action sequences such as hand-to-hand combat with a Nazi guard and flying through the air shooting enemy planes or the Zeppelin itself. Strategic elements also come into play as players move their spies around to gather information and avoid detection.

An "Extended Collector's Edition" of Rocket Ranger was released in 2018, featuring the game in multiple languages and for multiple platforms, along with bonuses such as posters, stickers, postcards, and a vinyl soundtrack.
