Phineas And Ferb: Across The 2nd Dimension is more than just a video game based on the Disney Channel Original movie. It's an interactive part of the film, filling in some gaps from the "Brand New Reality" montage sequence where Phineas, Ferb, Candace, Agent P and Dr. Doofenshmirtz jump into one bizarre dimension after another while being pursued by evil Normbots.
The game's storyline sees our heroes pass through various dimensions containing references to certain episodes of the TV show not featured in the movie. Players can co-op play with a friend or work with a computer-controlled partner, adding to the gameplay experience.
The game plays like a typical platformer with numerous puzzles, mini-games and boss battles in-between exploring and fighting basic enemies. There are countless items to collect and special characters (each with their own unique ability) to unlock as well as costumes/skins for all playable characters.
Customization options include unlocking new weapons with different colors and sound effects, as well as achievements/trophies to be won. An increased difficulty mode becomes available after achieving the final trophy. Background props change depending on what time of year the game is played, adding a touch of realism.
Phineas And Ferb: Across The 2nd Dimension should not be confused with other games bearing the same title, as it has an alternate plot line and gameplay mechanics.
The game was released for the PSP console on 31st October 2012.
