Game Guide
Extracted from the original game manual
This is a narrative-driven adventure game where players follow Charlie Bucket, a poor boy who finds a golden ticket to Willy Wonka's mysterious chocolate factory. The player's goal is to explore the factory, overcome challenges, and ultimately win a special prize.
Story
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
This is the story of an ordinary little boy named Charlie Bucket. He is not faster, or stronger, or cleverer than any other child. Indeed, Charlie is barely strong enough to stand in the wind.
His family is not rich, or powerful, or well-connected. In fact, they barely have enough to eat. Yet Charlie Bucket is the luckiest boy in the entire world. He just doesn't know it yet.
Unseen for years, Willy Wonka, the world's greatest candy maker, has decided to invite five (and only five) children into his fantastic Chocolate Factory. Golden Tickets have been hidden beneath the wrappers of five ordinary Wonka bars.
The lucky children who find them are to be taken on a personal tour of the factory by Mr. Wonka himself. But the luckiest child of them all will receive an extra special prize, beyond their wildest imagination.

CONTROLLING THE CAMERA
The camera positions itself automatically behind Charlie to provide the best view of the environment. You can also use the right analog stick to turn the camera; this may be especially helpful in certain areas where you want to take a better look.
In some situations, you may want to rotate the camera directly behind Charlie to get his perspective.
THE GREAT GLASS ELEVATOR
Great Glass Elevator Level Select
How do visitors travel through the factory? Why, the Great Glass Elevator is one fun way, of course! Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to run as regularly as it used to.
Rumor has it that the quirkiness began when the Great Glass Elevator lost some of its buttons. If you collect any buttons during your adventure, maybe you can get it running again.
If you find the Great Glass Elevator at one of its stop points, be sure to take a look inside. It may be able to help you return to some unfinished business. There's also some buzz about a special button that no one has ever pushed; maybe that's the ticket to the best view in the entire world!

Tips & Maps
Wonka-Vite
If you ever need help, Charlie, don't hesitate to ask your old Grandpa Joe it's been a while, but I still remember a thing or two!
Everlasting Gobstopper
You can suck on them all year and they'll never get any smaller! And if you throw them they pack quite a wallop! Did I mention they taste terrific? Remember to toss an Everlasting Gobstopper at anything that looks like it might be chock-full of goodies.
Oompa-Loompas
All Oompa-Loompas are wonderful, but some are better than others at fixing certain problems. The INFO command (left directional button) will show you where they can perform best.
Collectables
Be sure to collect candies and collectables whenever you can. If you get them all, they'll add up to an incredible prize!
Broken machines
Broken machines can't make Wonka-certified candy! Keep an eye out for candy that's being wasted and falling on the ground; these might be areas where you and the Oompa-Loompas can lend a hand and fix the factory.
