Game Guide
Extracted from the original game manual
This arcade-style flight combat game puts players in the cockpit as a Top Gun pilot. You'll progress through 36 missions across three historical and futuristic eras, starting with academy training and then engaging in live combat across various global hotspots.
Story
TOP GUN: COMBAT ZONES
Over its 30-year history, the TOP GUN academy has trained and supplied pilots for conflicts all over the world. In TOP GUN - Combat Zones, you will begin your own chapter in this illustrious history.
TOP GUN Combat Zones is composed of 36 academy and war-zones missions set over three periods in history or in the near future.
Starting Location
Upon starting the game, you will be located at Miramar, home of the Naval Fighter Weapons School. Your first five missions will be based at this location. The combat will be as live as anything you will face in the rest of the game.
Live Combat Eligibility
Upon completing five Academy Missions, you will be eligible for live combat.
Eras
•
First Era: South East Asia, and the end of the Vietnam War.
•
Second Era: Gulf States, taking place in the late 80's and early 90's.
•
Third Era: Arctic Circle, a future conflict based around disputed borders and a global fuel crisis.
As each new Era begins, a new plane is received, and a new set of Academy and live combat missions will be presented to you.
