Batman: Arkham Asylum is back in Gotham City. The Joker has escaped from captivity and taken over Arkham Asylum. Batman must navigate through the asylum's grounds and wings to stop him. Along the way, he will encounter some of his deadliest foes.
The game features a mix of stealth, detective work, and action-packed combat as Batman works to apprehend the Joker. He won't be alone in his quest, as he'll receive assistance from surviving guards and information from Oracle, a computer genius.
Players can use a variety of gadgets at their disposal, including the grappling hook, Batarangs, explosive gel, zipline, and electronically-assisted vision. As Batman progresses through the game, he'll earn experience points by defeating enemies, finding hidden items, or completing special tasks.
These points can be used to upgrade or purchase new abilities for Batman's arsenal. The game also features a controllable camera viewpoint and an optional first-person view for closer looks.
The grounds of Arkham Asylum are filled with 240 "riddles" to solve, courtesy of the Riddler, and various achievements to unlock, depending on the gaming platform.
