Deadpool is an action-adventure game that puts you in control of Wade Wilson, a.k.a. Deadpool. You're on a contract to kill a corrupt media mogul, but things take a turn when Mister Sinister intervenes and kills him instead. This sparks your wrath, and you vow revenge, only to discover a bigger plot that could spell the end of humanity.
The game is true to its character, with Deadpool breaking the fourth wall numerous times. He'll comment on the script, make fun of you if you do poorly, and even reference other franchises like Transformers and Spider-Man, as well as video games like The Legend of Zelda.
The gameplay is a mix of third-person slash fest and gunplay, starting with your signature katanas and duel pistols. As you progress, you can upgrade Deadpool and buy new guns and melee weapons using DP points scattered throughout the levels. Chaining combos to hit enemies will give you more DP, which can be used to build momentum and take down large groups of foes or pick up dropped items like tacos.
Deadpool has some unique abilities, such as regenerating health similar to Wolverine from X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and teleportation to get behind enemies. The game also features a challenge mode where you can compete against wave after wave of enemies in arenas unlocked during the campaign.
Deadpool was released on June 28, 2013, for the PlayStation 3.
