Legend Of The Skyfish is an action-puzzle game where players control Little Red Hook as she navigates through levels to defeat the evil Skyfish. The game follows a level-based structure, where Little Red Hook must pass from one island to another until she finds a Skyfish totem to destroy. She uses her fishing rod, which serves both as a weapon and grappling hook, to overcome obstacles such as pressure plates that open gates.

The gameplay involves solving puzzles, fighting against the Skyfish minions, and upgrading Little Red Hook's outfit and equipment. Players can choose from different upgrades for each level, affecting the strategy used to complete the game. The game features five chapters with nine levels each, culminating in a boss fight at the end of each chapter.

The gameplay is viewed from a bird's eye perspective, with smaller screens dividing the levels into manageable sections. This design resembles early The Legend of Zelda games.
