Earthworm Jim , released for the Sega Master System, follows the adventures of Jim, a worm who finds himself at the center of an intergalactic conflict. A crow is chasing him in outer space, while another, Psy-Crow, is after a stolen suit that can make its wearer more beautiful to Queen Slug-for-a-Butt. The suit lands on Earth, where Jim inadvertently becomes its owner and soon discovers he has control over it.

The game's objective is for the player to take control of Jim, navigating through 2D side-scrolling platformer levels with action elements. Players can use Jim's gun or his body in creative ways to overcome obstacles, such as whipping enemies, using grappling hooks, or making the suit spin rapidly to hover.

The gameplay is a mix of standard platforming levels and variations that require different approaches, including escorting computer-controlled characters, participating in space racing sequences, and competing in bungie-jumping challenges. With its unique blend of action and exploration, Earthworm Jim offers an engaging experience for players.

The game's unique premise and varied gameplay elements make it a standout title in the platformer genre. As players navigate through the levels, they'll need to think creatively and use their wits to overcome challenges and save the day as Earthworm Jim .
