Hook is a video game adaptation of the Steven Spielberg film, where players take on the role of a grown-up Peter Pan. The kids have been kidnapped by Captain Hook, and Tinker Bell takes Peter back to Neverland to reclaim them. In this interpretation, Peter must again become Pan and face his past to rescue his children.
The gameplay involves side-scrolling action, with players hacking their way through 11 levels. These include forests, icy regions, and towns that Peter will have to jump, climb, and swim through. Players can collect magic items like apples and pixie dust for special powers. When enemies are attacked, they surrender rather than dying, making the game more suitable for a child-friendly audience.
Hook was released on the Sega Mega CD in 1993.
