Speedball 2

As the manager of Speedball 2, your task is to transform the fortunes of a poor performing team. The game features a league system with two divisions of eight teams each, as well as two cup tournaments, including a two-legged challenge where the aggregate score determines progress.

You can play the matches yourself, which is the main attraction of the game. Each match consists of two 90-second periods, with fast and frantic gameplay that encourages heavy tackling to retrieve the ball. Power-ups and tokens appear on the pitch, such as those that make your players extra-tough or freeze the opponents.

The sides of the pitch have score multipliers that you can run the ball through to increase the value of your scoring. However, the opposition can sometimes grab the ball and nullify this effect. There are also five stars on the pitch, worth 2 points each if hit, but these can be canceled out by the opponents hitting the same star.

Between matches, you can earn money for your results and collect silver tokens that appear randomly on the pitch. You can spend this money to improve or upgrade your existing players, or buy new ones to fit into your team. It's essential to remember where your signed players are and make use of them effectively.

During matches, various tokens will also appear, some of which boost your team's power for a short time, while others can freeze the opposition.
