Jelly Boy is a gelatinous humanoid pink blob on a mission through strange worlds. He travels throughout landscapes like giant toy factories and arctic snowfields during his quest, facing down enemies and obstacles. The blob can jump and launch a large fist from its stomach.
Throughout different levels, Jelly Boy can find special power-ups that allow him to change forms. These include a hot air balloon for floating up to items, a hammer for smashing blocks, a submarine for navigating an undersea bonus level, a skateboard for speed, and a pogo stick for high jumping. Some power-ups are not useful, such as turning the blob into a block.
Jelly Boy collects musical notes instead of having a power meter. Losing health will knock away his collected notes, and losing all notes means losing a life. He also collects fruit to earn extra lives, with certain fruits giving additional effects like more time on the clock or invincibility.
Jelly Boy was released for the Super Nintendo on June 17th, 1995, as part of action & adventure gameplay.
