Balls of Fury is a table tennis game based on the movie of the same name. The game comes with four modes: Exhibition, Arcade, Tournament, or Story. In the last mode, players assume the role of Randy Daytona and the game follows the events of the movie.
The gameplay revolves around mimicking the motions of table tennis to perform shots, slams, lobs, and combos. Spin can be added by moving the controller diagonally, and each player has two power moves that make the ball burst into flames or follow an irregular pattern. Players also have a power bar for serving and volleys, which is refilled by volleying back and forth with the opponent.
Players can use taunts to distract their opponents, accompanied by shaking camera effects and rumbling Wii remote sounds. There are ten characters to choose from, but only six are available right away, with others unlockable through performance and the collection of ten trophies. The game features various match settings, including three difficulty levels and six venues, such as Korean Olympic Gym, Reno Middle School, Master Wong's Training School, Chinatown Gym, Feng's Tournament Room, and Feng's Rec Room.
