Mystery Case Files: The Malgrave Incident is a game where you take on the role of a master detective, helping Winston Malgrave on a remote tropical island. The island was once known as Shangri-La with legendary water sources that could restore youth and vigor. However, some incident has occurred, and many inhabitants have left. Malgrave needs your help to return to the island, avoid its dangers, and find a mysterious powder with amazing healing properties. He desperately wants you to collect it quickly to revive his beloved wife Sara before it's too late.
The game style is graphic adventure with hidden object scenes. At the bottom of the screen are words indicating the objects that need to be found. You use the Wii remote to pan back and forth to find these objects, which also has a 3D perspective view that can obscure or reveal other objects from view. Items collected into your inventory are used in solving puzzle elements of the plot. The game also allows movement through the environment using the Wii remote, as well as additional modes of play for up to 4 players and challenge modes.
