Ash, the protagonist of the Evil Dead series, finds himself in a desperate situation after being arrested and convicted for the murder of his enemies. He is sentenced to Sunny Meadows, an institution for the criminally insane, where he discovers that the Necromonicon Ex Mortis, the Book of the Dead, has fallen into the hands of Dr. Vladamir Reinhard, the asylum's director.

Evil Dead: Regeneration is a third-person action game that puts players in control of Ash as he battles against hordes of zombie-like creatures. Armed with various collectible weapons, including his trusty chainsaw-hand and shotgun, Ash must hack and shoot his way through the undead to weaken their bodies. By pressing a button at the right moment, Ash can unleash a finishing move using his arsenal, making short work of his enemies.

Alongside Ash is Sam, an inmate who has been turned into a half-Deadite by Dr. Reinhard's experiments. As players progress through the game, they can control Sam after finding specific symbols, allowing him to assist Ash in battle and interact with the environment. Ash can also use Sam as a makeshift attack dog, kicking him to take down enemies and activate puzzles.

The voice cast for Evil Dead: Regeneration remains faithful to its predecessors, with Bruce Campbell reprising his role as Ash and Ted Raimi voicing the troubled inmate Sam. With its over-the-top action and dark humor, Evil Dead: Regeneration is a thrilling experience that will keep players on the edge of their seats until the very end.
