The gameplay in Battlestations: Midway is varied and exciting, allowing you to control ships, subs, and planes in both single-player and multiplayer matches.
In the single-player campaign, you are limited to controlling the ships, subs, and planes provided by the game. However, in multiplayer matches, you have the freedom to switch between any vehicle that is not currently occupied by another player. You can choose from a range of ships, including Torpedo Boats, Destroyers, and Aircraft Carriers, each with their own unique options and weapons. Additionally, you can control aircraft like the F4F Wildcat or SBD Dauntless.
The game also features three different challenges for each type of vehicle, which put your skills to the test in difficult situations. The first mission in the ship challenge, for example, requires you to navigate a Japanese Battleship that has been ambushed and needs to reach safety amidst advancing US Destroyers.
