Kane & Lynch are on their way to execution when their transport is attacked by a group of men. It's later revealed that these attackers were Kane's old associates, who demand the money from their last coup in exchange for his family's safety. Lynch, who has been presumed dead, is forced to work with Kane to get the money quickly.
As the game begins, you take control of Kane and try to free his family after the transport is hit. The camera follows Kane as he moves, allowing you to zoom in on an over-the-shoulder view while firing. Kane will automatically take cover where possible, but if he's badly wounded, a teammate must administer a shot of adrenaline to get him back into the fight.
The gameplay involves shooting your way through hordes of police and special forces. You can carry two different types of weapons, from pistols to assault rifles and shotguns. In addition, you can give Lynch commands, such as focusing his fire on an enemy or trading weapons with him.
During the course of the game, you'll be accompanied by other members of the organisation, whom you can interact with in a similar way to Lynch. The game features an offline co-op mode, where the second player takes control of Lynch. The online multiplayer mode, "Fragile Alliance," involves robbing a bank, but with a twist: you can attack your teammates at any time, kill them, and take the money they've collected.
The Xbox 360 version of Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days was released on August 20, 2010.
