Kinect Sports is one of the launch games for Microsoft's Kinect peripheral for the Xbox 360, where movement using the body and limbs controls the onscreen avatars. The game includes three main modes: a main event for one or two players locally or over Xbox Live, Party Play for multiple players in a single room, and Mini-Games with variations of the sports gameplay.
The included sports are: Beach volleyball , Bowling , Boxing , Football , Table tennis , and Track and field . Each game offers unique controls and challenges, with some requiring precise movements or specific body parts to interact with the onscreen elements.
The Party Play mode allows up to six players divided into two teams, with a session lasting around 15 minutes and consisting of six rounds. The game also features adjustable difficulty levels for AI opponents and a variety of free-for-all or cooperative options for different sports.
