Shanghai , released in 1987 , is an action & adventure game for the Famicom console. The gameplay revolves around removing 144 tiles by matching pairs, with each tile having different images on it. These images are arranged in a grid pattern, getting progressively harder to access towards the center.
The objective is to clear all the tiles without any being left behind, but there's a catch - a single tile can only be removed if it has no adjacent tiles next to it on at least one side. This adds an extra layer of strategy to the game.
Shanghai also features five preset challenges, including some with time limits, as well as a multiplayer mode that allows players to take on friends or family members in a battle of wits. The game's random board layout and varying difficulty levels ensure that no two playthroughs are ever the same.
