Complete levels to earn reward money, which can be spent on unlockable characters, journal entries offering backstory, or Old West weapons like pistols, rifles, shotguns, knives, molotvts, poison and dynamite. Beat levels and chain together limb shots for bonus cash.

The game features pistol dueling as a mini-game mechanic, requiring precise timing to win. A multiplayer mode allows split-screen play with friends or AI bots, incorporating powerups, an alternative showdown mode, and two poker sub-games that add strategy to the action.
