Madden NFL 12 is the seventh and last appearance of the football franchise on the PSP. Changes compared to the previous year's release are minimal, mainly consisting of rule and roster updates for the new NFL season and new music tracks. All game modes and even the menus are re-used.
The gameplay is fast-paced and challenging, with a focus on realistic team management and player development. Players can take control of their favorite teams and players, making tactical decisions during games and managing their rosters to achieve success in the franchise mode. The addition of new features such as the play designer and ad-hoc multiplayer adds depth to the game.
