NBA Street Showdown for the PlayStation Portable handheld system. NBA Street Showdown is a street-rules, three-on-three basketball series. Developed in parallel with NBA Street Vol. 3, it contains elements of Vol. 2 and Vol. 3, as well as many unique features.
The story revolves around the player's journey to own and defend all courts in the game by defeating boss characters and their challengers. The primary mode is King of the Courts, where eleven courts are owned by different bosses. To unlock new courts, the player must compete in a tournament-style progression, ultimately facing the boss character.
The gameplay focuses on street basketball, with an emphasis on defending your courts and competing against opponents in various modes. The game features two mini-games: Shot Blocker and Arcade Shootout. In Shot Blocker, players must block shots while avoiding getting struck by too many shots in a row. In Arcade Shootout, players aim to sink baskets before time runs out, with increasing difficulty and bonus points for achieving specific targets.
Multiplayer options include two-player network play, Party Play, and WiFi multi-play modes for standard three-on-three pickup games and both mini-games. Players can compete in head-to-head matches or on the same machine to get the highest score in Shot Blocker and Arcade Shootout.
The game was released on 27 April 2005 for the PSP handheld system.
