NBA 2K9 is part of the long-running 2K series with an update featuring the latest NBA stars. The same modes are still present: Exhibition , Season and Franchise with some tweaks to the gameplay.
The game features new abilities, such as changing shot trajectories in mid-air and a more advanced AI that reacts to player performance. Players can also track their players' performance, morale and attitude during franchise mode to keep them happy and content on the team.
There are new cutscenes for highlight reels and online capabilities where players can compete in online leagues or face other teams head-to-head. Players can also upload their created players with custom-made highlight reels that they can share on their online provider.
Clark Kellogg, Cheryl Miller and Kevin Harlan provide their voice talents to the game.
NBA 2K9 was released for the Playstation 2 on October 7th , 2008.
