NBA 2K9 is the latest update in the long running 2K series with an updated roster featuring the latest NBA stars. The game modes are still present: Exhibition , Season and Franchise , with tweaked gameplay.
The gameplay has received some significant improvements, including the ability to adjust a shot's trajectory in mid-air and an advanced AI that reacts to the player's performance. Players can also monitor their team members' morale and attitude during Franchise mode to keep them happy and content within their roles.
The game features new cutscenes for highlight reels and online capabilities, including the option to compete in online leagues or face another team head-to-head.
Players can also upload their created players along with custom-made highlight reels to share on their online provider. The game's voice talents come from Clark Kellogg, Cheryl Miller, and Kevin Harlan.
NBA 2K9 was released for the PlayStation 3 console on October 7th, 2008.
