Air Conflicts: Pacific Carriers is an arcade flight simulator and the successor to Air Conflicts: Secret Wars . Players choose to fight for the US Navy or for the Japanese Imperial Navy. The game contains five battles in each campaign with different missions and extra quests. The battles represent some battles of World War II, including the Battle of Midway, Pearl Harbor, and Wake Island Raids.
Gameplay involves choosing a side and completing various missions. Players can engage in different types of multiplayer gameplay, such as deathmatch, team deathmatch, capture the flag, and survival mode. As a commander, players can control an entire squadron instead of directing just a single plane. The game features improved graphics, including larger environments, more detailed ship models, and support for the PlayStation Move on the PS3.
