You'll progress through career mode, playing fights in local gyms before moving to top venues. You'll need to manage your trainer's input, strategy outside the ring, as well as enhance your fighter's training to boost speed and power. Choose your opponents carefully, as each fight may offer a cash prize or promotional opportunity.

During fights, use the total punch control system to throw precise punches using the analog stick. This eliminates unnecessary button mashing and adds depth to the gameplay. You can also play historic bouts like Taylor vs. Hopkins, Gatti vs. Ward, or Robinson vs. Lamotta in ESPN Classic mode.

In local multiplayer, play with your fighter or user-created fighters against a friend. Take the fight online to prove yourself as the world champion against any opponent at any time.
