Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising

Skira, a strategic island in the Pacific Ocean north of Japan, has been at the center of numerous conflicts due to its valuable oil deposits. The Russians gained control after World War II, but China's growing economy and increasing need for oil led to tensions rising. As the National People's Army guarded the Russian border under General Zhang's leadership, civil unrest spread across China, prompting a possible war against China. In response, General Zhang invaded Skira, claiming it as China's rightful historical property. With Russia too busy preparing for a potential war, they turned to the USA for assistance in regaining control over the island.

The game features several multiplayer modes, including taking on the entire campaign together or engaging in "Destruction" (Team Deathmatch) or "Infiltration". The selection of vehicles is greater in multiplayer, covering everything from jeeps to AH-1 Cobra helicopters. The PC version includes a powerful map-editor.
