Muddy MANIA is a GameBoy action-adventure game where Muddy's wife and seven kids have been kidnapped by the evil farmer, Jinbei. You play as Muddy, helping him solve puzzles in Jinbei Land to rescue his family.

The gameplay involves snatching all of Jinbei's cabbages in every level while avoiding his best goons. If you get stuck, you can dig underground and create your own secret paths. However, be warned that Jinbei has got guards patrolling the area, so keep an eye out! The game plays from an overhead perspective, with a focus on puzzle-solving rather than action. You may find yourself getting "stuck" in later levels, but don't worry – leaving and returning to the screen will reset the puzzle.

A clever feature of MANIA is that you can dig underground to discover a completely different map than what's above ground. This hidden path can be used to navigate through otherwise impassable terrain. The game also includes a two-player mode, where one player controls Muddy and the other controls Jinbei. Your goal in this mode is to swipe as many cabbages as possible while trying to stop the opposing player. At the end of each round, players swap roles, and the player with the most cabbages wins.
