A baby alien named Tamagotchi has arrived on Earth from outer space inside an egg that landed here. This creature cannot take care of itself, so it is up to you to feed, play with, and look after it until it grows up.
The Tamagotchi game is based on the virtual pet of the same name, where your responsibility for its care will determine how well it thrives. You'll need to decide when to feed, give medicine, or scold it when necessary. The Game Boy version allows you to adjust the Tamagotchi's growth speed in the game options and even look after up to three pets at once.
As you care for your Tamagotchi , you can engage in one of three games designed to improve its mood, intelligence, or physical fitness. The Smile Game involves guessing the direction it will face next, while the Study Game requires answering simple math questions. In the Sports Game, you'll need to catch baseballs before they hit the floor to score points.
Additionally, the Game Boy version of Tamagotchi features Tournaments where you can enter your pet in various competitions. Training your Tamagotchi beforehand will increase its chances of winning, but make sure it's healthy and well-cared for before entering.
Tamagotchi was released on 1st October 1997 for the Game Boy console and has become a popular virtual pet experience among gamers of all ages.
