Spelunky is a remake of the original game, featuring updated graphics that have earned it the title Spelunky HD . The release includes new enemies, music, areas, terrain, items and 11 new playable characters. It also features a local 4-players co-op mode and a deathmatch mode, where controls were redesigned specifically to be played with a gamepad.
The game offers a new experience, but also some small differences between releases. The Steam and PSN versions feature a Daily Challenge Mode, where players compete in the same daily generated cave. The PSN version also allows for movement freedom in co-op mode, as players don't share the same screen.
