Game Boy Advance action game Battle B-Daman: Fire Spirits is based on the anime TV series of the same name, which is inspired by the B-Daman line of toys.
The game follows the story of Yamato Delgado as he enters the Winners Tournament in search of Strike Shots to help him win matches. The game's narrative initially follows the early episodes of the anime before introducing a new antagonist called Death Poker Alliance, who seek to obtain the Petrified Parts that Yamato is searching for.
The gameplay involves one-to-one battles between two robots, played from a first-person perspective where the robot can only move left or right and fire colored plastic balls to damage the opponent while avoiding incoming attacks. New parts become available after winning matches, offering customization options. The game features a main Adventure mode, a Battle mode, and six mini-games, including Battle Shoot, Gate Check, and more.
The Blaster Core System allows for the customization of special moves by equipping specific cores, replacing the original Zero System concept. The game also includes strategic elements based on different special and charged attacks, adding depth to the battles.
