Mystic Defender is a side-scrolling platform game that follows Joe Yamata, also known as Kujaku, on his quest to rescue Alexandra from the clutches of villain Zao. Zao seeks to use Alexandra's soul to resurrect his master Zareth in Azuchi castle.
The gameplay involves navigating through levels as Joe Yamata, fighting enemies and collecting magic to defeat them. You can charge your blasts and switch between different types of magic mid-game, adding a layer of strategy to the action-packed platforming.
