You control Ardy Lightfoot , a cat-like creature, as he navigates through colorful worlds to retrieve the Seven Pieces of the Sacred Rainbow. His quest takes him through various levels, each filled with strange enemies and bosses, including some that can be defeated using his friend Pec, a blue penguin.

The gameplay involves platforming and exploration, as Ardy Lightfoot must find all seven pieces in order to face off against the final enemy. Along the way, he receives assistance from friends such as Nina and Don Jacoby, who provide helpful support during challenging parts of the game.

Controls

Y button

Throw PEC (makes PEC attack enemies, eat small enemies, catch rocks and bombs with his mouth and hand them to ARDY); Pick up and put down items (when standing close to items like rocks or bombs); Throw items away (if pushed when ARDY is running with an item in his hands)

B button

Jump (the longer you press it, the higher ARDY will jump); Stand on the tail (if pressed a second time during a jump and kept pressed); Jump with the tail (if released when ARDY is on his tail, to jump higher than normal); Crush enemies (by landing on them with his tail)

DOWN ARROW

Put ARDY back on his feet (when standing on his tail); Crouch down; Climb down ivy

UP ARROW

Catch ivy (when jumping toward it); Climb up ivy; Hide (by keeping it pressed, pulling out a cloak)

LEFT ARROW

Move to the left side of the ivy

RIGHT ARROW

Move to the right side of the ivy

Enemies & Characters

KOPIS

The soldiers of Visconty's band and enemies of Ardy.

MORDAN

Commander of Visconty's band who attacks the Mining town.

CATRY

The very nimble wildcat woman who will cause Ardy many troubles, and will steal the "GREEN piece of the rainbow" from the forest.

GILSON the pirate

The captain of the pirate ship that protects the treasure of the ruins in the South Ocean from the tomb thieves. He will never join the band of Visconty.

BEECROFT

The right hand of Visconty. He is a sly fellow who desires the top place of the band.

VISCONTY THE DEVIL

The boss of Visconty's band who built his castle in the middle of the ocean. He wants to collect all the 7 pieces of the rainbow in order to reign over the world.



Tips & Maps

Tail-jumping power

Ardy can increase his tail-jumping power by puffing up PEC in the air.

Catry fight

The switch in the room where Ardy fights against Catry can also be pushed by PEC. Lure Catry before stepping on the switch to beat her easily.

Hiding power

You can easily beat the scary big boss by using your hiding power to invent your own attack method.

Lamp ghost

The ghost that appears from the lamp will not be damaged by any attack from Ardy, but he does have a weak point related to other things in the room.

Rocks

Rocks will stop and throw back arrows, so don't forget to use them.

Tail landing

Ardy will land and stand on his tail if you keep the B button pressed continuously during his jump. Be careful not to jump where Ardy may hurt his head.

Visconty

The attacks of Visconty are really very dangerous, but if you observe him carefully, you will be able to foresee his next move.
