The game Doraemon 4 is based on the popular manga series about a blue cat robot named Doraemon who comes from the future to protect a Japanese boy named Nobita. Nobita always gets himself in trouble, so his grandson in the future sends Doraemon to help him. When they look at the moon together, a strange light envelops them and they learn that something terrible has happened in the Moon Kingdom.
The gameplay of Doraemon 4 is similar to platform action games like Super Mario World. You explore a world map and enter various levels. Before each level, you can choose which character to play as - Doraemon, Nobita, or three other characters. You can jump on enemies' heads or shoot at them with different weapons to defeat them. There are many items and upgrades scattered around the levels, and sometimes you can power-up by using two characters at the same time.
