Othello World is an adaptation of Othello/Reversi for the Super Famicom. The game features several worlds, each with opponents of increasing difficulty inspired by fairy tales, Alice in Wonderland, and Shakespeare's works. These opponents are divided into five levels per world, and beating three of them unlocks the next one. Players can use passwords to continue from a specific point if they fail.
Gameplay involves navigating a grid-like board, capturing opponent pieces by matching them vertically or horizontally. The goal is to eliminate all opponent pieces before running out of turns. As players progress through the worlds, opponents become increasingly difficult, requiring strategic thinking and planning ahead. Ultimately, beating the final opponent, Tamenori, earns the title of Othello World champion.
