ACME Animation Factory is essentially Mario Paint with a Looney Tunes license. The player can choose from 18 pre-set animations of their favorite cartoon characters and super impose them over a scene to create their very own cartoon. Much like Mario Paint , they can also color blank drawings, create their own music and even play games like Solitaire and Mix 'n' Match. Players can also save their own creations for later viewing.
The game's story revolves around the player taking on various animation tasks, such as drawing, coloring, and animating, to complete projects for a cartoon studio. The player must work within certain time limits and meet specific requirements, all while showcasing their creativity and skills in animation and art.
Gameplay involves various modes, including drawing, coloring, music creation, and game play. Players can select from a variety of pre-set animations, drawings, and backgrounds to create their own unique content. The game also includes educational elements, teaching the player about different animation techniques, color theory, and creative expression.
ACME Animation Factory was released for the Super Nintendo console in November 1994 and is an educational title that caters to both children and adults looking for a fun and creative outlet.
