Embracing its place as a single-player sequel to Mario Bros., Mario Clash presents a new gameplay experience that builds upon the original's core mechanics. The game takes place in various environments where you must navigate through levels, defeat enemies, and clear screens of obstacles. This title also introduces several enhancements over its predecessor.
The objective remains the same as before: to remove all the objects on a level by throwing shells at them or hitting them with other objects. A significant improvement is the introduction of depth, allowing you to travel between front and back areas using pipes. Moreover, enemies can be targeted in both levels using various types of projectiles.
