The Lego Star Wars II Original Trilogy brings a fresh take on the beloved Star Wars universe, focusing on the iconic trilogy of A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, and The Return of Jedi. In this sequel to the first title, you'll be joined by two other characters on-screen, allowing for unique abilities and skills to overcome challenges.
During story mode, you'll need to manage a shared life bar with your partner characters, as losing one means losing stud points and depleting the Super Kit gauge. This shift in gameplay mechanics is reflected in the introduction of blaster battles, which are more effective but lack the charge mode from previous games. New flight missions have been added, offering thrilling experiences like navigating the forest moon of Endor or escaping an asteroid field with the Millennium Falcon.
The game features three major character classes: droids, Jedi, and Blaster users. Each class has unique abilities and playstyles, such as opening doors or assembling bridges. The gameplay remains a light-hearted isometric experience, where you'll navigate through levels, interact with objects, and solve puzzles to progress.
To unlock new playable characters, including enemies and heroes like Yoda, you'll need to earn credits, complete levels, and collect mini kits. You can also purchase additional items, such as music, palette swaps, new game modes, lightsaber colors, and hints. Free Play mode is still a must-complete experience, as many doors require unique special abilities to access.

How to Play
Welcome to the Mos Eisley Cantina
Your journey begins in the Mos Eisley Cantina, a rather dubious watering hole. You start in control of Princess Leia, accompanied by her Rebel Trooper companion who seems to follow her everywhere.
Tour the cantina and tease the eager fellow to get started. Remember to purchase your own drinks, as droids are not made of credits.
The Bar
The cantina is renowned for its extensive menu of galactic delicacies. Wander to the blue LEGO mat in front of the bar to view the menu.
Use the A Button to select each option:

Hints: Gameplay tips for weary travelers.
•
Characters: Unlock bonus characters as you journey.
•
Extras: Gameplay cheats for those seeking exotic options.
•
Codes: Enter secret codes for custom orders.
Episodes
Three doors surrounding the bar lead to the main episodes:
•
Episode IV: A New Hope
•
Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back
•
Episode VI: Return of the Jedi
Each door leads to several chapters. Once you complete the first chapter, *The Blockade Runner*, subsequent chapters unlock, allowing you to move between all three episodes.
Gameplay Options
Entering a chapter presents two primary modes:
Story
This mode follows the events of the original Star Wars Trilogy almost exactly. You are limited to certain characters specific to each scene.
Free Play
This mode allows you to revisit any unlocked chapter using any character you choose. You can rotate between characters at will. While some characters are available in Story Mode, others must be purchased at the cantina bar or unlocked via Mini-Kits.
Vehicle Controls
Use the following controls when operating a vehicle:

Move: +Control Pad
•
Fire Weapon: B Button
•
Special Abilities: L Button (hold down)
•
Pause/Options: START
Pausing Your Progress
Press START to pause, view your progress, and check your Mini-Kit Canister count. You can also toggle through the following menus:
•
Options: Adjust sound effects, music volume, gamma, and isometric controls, or view credits.
•
Extras: Access special unlockable features purchasable at the cantina.
•
Save & Quit: Save your progress and return to the main menu.
Chapter Conclusion
At the end of each chapter, you will see a summary of your abilities. This includes all unlocked characters for Free Play Mode, as well as the LEGO Studs and Mini-Kit Canisters you have collected.
Tips & Maps
THE FORCE
Jedi can perform special moves by holding the R Button while facing a highlighted object for Force Transform, or pressing the L Button to activate unique Force powers.
BUILDING
Any humanoid character can use the Build action by holding the R Button while facing a pile of LEGO bricks to transform them into more useful objects.
HOVER
Certain Astromech droids can hover to inaccessible places by pressing and holding the A Button, then moving as normal.
ACTIVATING PANELS
Players must face a panel and press the L Button to activate it, using the character indicated by the icon shown on the panel.
DISGUISES
Humanoid characters can disguise themselves as Stormtroopers or bounty hunters to sneak past enemies using stealth instead of force.
Items & Weapons
Lego Studs
A new currency made of valuable plastic bits that can be earned in various ways and banked at the end of each chapter to unlock characters and extras.
MINI-KIT CANISTERS
Rare, hard-to-find items hidden throughout chapters that, when 10 are located, reward immense LEGO Stud wealth and unlock additional characters.
