Hysteria Hospital: Emergency Ward is a Time Management game in the style of Diner Dash or Cake Mania .
You play as a nurse, recently graduated from university, and start your career in a small medical ward in Maryville. Finding a job wasn't hard, and you soon discover why - you're the only nurse on call.
Gameplay is virtually identical across all platforms, with the main differences being 3D visuals for the Wii and PC, and pixel-art graphics for the DS. The music and sound effects also vary between versions, with the DS using a more old-school approach and the others featuring hi-definition sound.
Hysteria Hospital: Emergency Ward features a quick tutorial to teach you the basics of taking patients to triage, administering treatments, and using your DS stylus, Wii-mote, or mouse.
Some patients demand more attention than others, and with limited equipment compared to the high volume of in-patients, you must juggle treatments, prescriptions, and clean-up phases. Failing to manage these aspects can lead to angry patients leaving, resulting in lost money and the risk of being fired.
Hysteria Hospital: Emergency Ward has a casual atmosphere typical of Time Management games, with features like customizing medical equipment, sending patients to another center via ambulance, buying items to keep patients happy, and changing your work uniform.
As you progress through levels, you'll focus on maximizing the number of patients you can treat, spending as much money as possible in the process.
You become a legendary nurse over time, but the gameplay remains largely the same throughout.
