Rogue Trooper, based on the popular comic book series, follows Rogue's quest to stop the treacherous General from destroying Nu Earth. The game begins with a planned attack gone wrong, resulting in the massacre of Rogue's comrades and prompting him to launch a solo mission to take down the Norts.
Gameplay involves guiding Rogue through various levels, using stealth and strategy to outmaneuver his enemies while also unleashing his arsenal at their disposal. Players can track the traitor General throughout the game, eventually facing off against him in the final mission. The Bio-chips system allows for unique abilities, with Gunnar providing sentry capabilities, Bagman managing equipment upgrades, and Helm granting access to computer consoles.
The game features three skill levels (Normal, Hard, and Massacre) and offers a checkpoint save feature, allowing players to continue from a previous point without losing progress. The Xbox version utilizes the left thumb-stick for movement and right thumb-stick for aiming, while the Windows version relies on keyboard and mouse controls.
Multiplayer is available across all platforms, with up to four playable characters (Rogue, Helm, Gunnar, and Bagman) each with their own attributes. Five arenas are available, with objectives such as defending or completing objectives against waves of enemies. High scores will be saved with the user's profile.
