The gameplay involves using untimed measures to defeat enemies, where players must play a note sequence as quickly as possible to succeed, with accuracy also being measured. Many mini-bosses and bosses use timed measures, similar to Guitar Hero. The game also features a competitive two-player co-op mode, where players can steal kills by completing untimed measures first.
