Maneater is a single-player action RPG where players control a female bull shark navigating the Gulf Coast's dangerous waters. The shark must hunt, eat, and evolve by consuming fish, turtles, and human hunters, unlocking new abilities and body parts to become an apex predator. The game features an open-world ocean, a storyline about revenge against a shark-hunting crew, and progression through upgrades and mutations. The Nintendo Switch version launched on May 25, 2021, offering portable gameplay with the same core mechanics. The Day One Edition for Switch bundles the base game with the "Tiger Shark Evolution" DLC, granting an exclusive tiger-shark body that improves nutrient absorption and provides early access to advanced evolution options.
