Cinderella for the PlayStation 2 is a retelling of the classic fairy tale of the same name. A large part of this game is that it includes an exclusive cartoon on the disc. The cartoon is a modern update of Cinderella - complete with taxis, a modern city setting and disco dance off.

The gameplay in Cinderella for PlayStation 2 offers a variety of activities to keep players engaged. From the title screen, the player can select from Pairs, Colouring, Jigsaw puzzle, and sliding puzzle. Pairs involves matching cards across a grid to eventually clear them all, while Colouring lets the player choose from a selection of colours and fill in sections of a drawing with a paint bucket tool. The Jigsaw activity is straightforward, with the player choosing pieces and dragging them onto an empty grid to make a picture from the cartoon. Sliding jigsaw adds an interesting twist, requiring players to flip pieces both vertically and horizontally to match and watch as animated pieces come together to form a small loop.
